UEC BMX Comm.
Date 19.3.2009
To all European BMX Federations, UEC and UCI
Dear Friends
A few days after I sand out the European Championship rules 2009, some officials ask me; is it possible to reduce number of races which will count for European overall standing. With review to present economical crisis UEC BMX Commission decided to do this and reduce these numbers of races to best 14 of 16 rounds.
Unfortunately, and to my big surprise, I got yesterday a letter from Hungary
BMX Federation, in which they inform me that, they don’t have any possibility as for economical situation; to organise European Championships round 7&8 2009.
Concerning this new situation please note following decision of UEC BMX Commission, in agreement with UCI and UEC Board:
1. We will not replace these rounds to any where, it is simply too late.
2. For the overall standing of European Championships 2009 will count
the best 12 results of 14 rounds.
3. The race Category 3, UCI World ranking race will be moved to Norway,
So it means; both races at Sandnes No; are races category 3. (World ranking)
We will not update all rules again, and sand it to all of you. All this and more
Info you can always see at our new web site www.UECBMX.com
In spite of this letter, if you have any question please contact me once more.
All your official has as well the possibility to inform themselves by the first
Chef d`equip meeting at Zwolle on Friday 3rd of March 2009 at 7 o’clock PM.
By the way, I would like to inform that we open from now till end of June
the biding procedure for the European Championship rounds 2011 and
Final rounds 2012. Your bids you can sand by e-mail to: uec.bmx.comm@bluewin.ch By the meeting of UEC BMX Commission in Fredericia, we will propose to UEC Board who should organise these races.
I wish you and your riders’ successful BMX season 2009.
With kind regards
Ilija
UEC BMX Comm.
